KOKORI is a new Finnish enterprise that creates handwoven baskets through direct and long-term engagement with villagers in northern Ghana. Its responsible activities aim to support sustainable development in the smallholder farmer communities through fair payment for the women weavers. The tight weaving technique of the resilient natural straws makes the baskets very durable and flexible. Every basket is a unique piece that celebrates several days of skillful handwork by its creator.

How to take care of your basket The material tolerates different temperatures and humidity. If needed, the basket can be washed with cold or warm water and scrubbed with soap. Makes sure the basket dries well. It the basket loses its shape over time, thoroughly wet and reshape by pressing and tapping the basket to its desired shape and let dry. The natural dyes may fade in excessive exposure to sunlight. All baskets are fully handcrafted and naturally made.
